On Thursday 4 October, we brought together 500 senior nurses from across healthcare to discuss and debate the biggest issue facing the sector, the workforce, and to celebrate and reward organisations taking great steps to recruit and retain their nursing staff.
During the day, the Summit highlighted important discussions and showcased innovations in workforce planning and management, which we hope has contributed to future conversations towards sustaining a workforce fit for the future.
In the evening, we held the NT Workforce Awards, which covered 11 categories recognising organisations going above and beyond to recruit and retain their nursing workforce. It was a great night of celebration, congratulations to all of the winners.
Steve Ford, editor of Nursing Times said:
“With this new event, we wanted to showcase how the health sector is supporting and developing arguably its most precious resource, its workforce.
Our inaugural Workforce Awards celebrated innovation and excellence across the broad spectrum of practice affecting nursing and healthcare staff. Essentially, we thought it was high time to shine a light on the best in an area that faces significant challenges at the moment due to shortages and other pressures.
I was particularly struck by the strength of the entries on recruitment experience, preceptorship, and wellbeing and staff engagement, which gives me hope that we are on the right track to keeping hold of our vital nursing staff.”
Once again, congratulations to this year’s winners and thank you to our delegates, speakers, sponsors and judges.
