Farhan Rafiq is the Head of Business Innovation and Growth at BDCFT and the lead for the iCare Programme at the Trust. Farhan joined the NHS as part of a career sector change in 2016 and prior to this had spent over 10 years as a business development professional working in the private, public and voluntary sector organisations in West Yorkshire.
Since joining the Trust in 2016, Farhan has helped the organisation win new business in employment and mental health provision, help retain key Speech and Language Therapy contracts, expand service provision of Children’s services from Bradford into Wakefield (£35M public health contract in 2017) and developed the iCare programme – now an award winning programme courtesy of the Nursing Times Workforce Awards in 2019.

In his spare time, Farhan loves spending time with his family, he is big on personal development, he volunteers at the local faith centre and is Chair of a small social enterprise, Spark Skills Ltd, that provides educational programmes of support for young people.
