am currently the International Recruitment Manager for the Devon Alliance for International Recruitment team. We are an NHS team, set up to work across the System in an integrated way 3 years ago, to provide in-house, specialist and ethical international recruitment expertise in the recruitment of overseas Nurses, Care Workers and other healthcare professionals for the Devon System, and beyond. We have been hugely successful, having deployed over 1500 international recruits across the System, working with NHS Trusts in Devon and across the South West, as well as with Social Care Providers and Local Authorities. As well as focusing on ethical recruitment best practice, we have also embedded excellent pastoral care for our candidates throughout the recruitment process and beyond. We have expanded to offer niche and specialist recruitment expertise, recruiting into roles ranging from specialist nurses, Care and Senior Care Workers, AHPs, Pharmacists and Clinical Psychologists to, most recently, Medics. We are a small team with an absolute passion for our work, which underpins our success. We are extremely proud to have saved the Devon System £190,000,000 (a hundred and ninety million pounds), over 3 years which would otherwise have been spent on agency fees.

I joined the Devon Alliance for International Recruitment team at its inception but prior to this had an extensive background in recruitment and resourcing. This includes both in-house and agency recruitment and resourcing experience, within the UK and internationally at a strategic and also operational level. I studied French and Spanish with Business at university which provided me with an excellent route into international recruitment. Over my career I have worked in a variety of niche, specialist and senior recruitment roles all of which helped to prepare me to join my current team. My work at the Devon Alliance makes a difference! We are helping to improve the lives and experience of our candidates and stakeholders, whilst making a positive difference to the NHS as a whole.
