Rob Lewis qualified as a Nurse in 1994, and worked in Acute Surgery, Critical care, Neuro Intensive care, and Clinical Site management across London, the South East of England, and New Zealand.

He joined Guys and St Thomas’ in 2004 as Charge Nurse for Surgical High Dependency, and has undertaken a number of roles across the trust including Matron for Gastrointestinal Surgery, Plastics trauma coordinator, Plastic Surgery service manager, Matron, and then Head of Nursing for Orthopaedics and Plastics.

Rob supported the COVID pandemic response both operationally and strategically, supporting the Trust and Surgery directorate. Rob moved to the role of Head of Nursing for Workforce and Education in 2020, where he initially supported trust wide deployment, safe staffing, rostering, and wellbeing response to the pandemic. Since then he has worked with the Workforce team to develop recruitment, retention, International recruitment, safe staffing, and transformation.
