Dilla Davis is a lecturer and researcher at King’s College London. She has enjoyed various roles as lecturer (University of Salford), clinical teaching fellow (University of Manchester), education development practitioner and practice education facilitator during her 22-year nursing career. Her PhD focused on lifestyle changes and self-management experiences of South Asians diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.
Dr Davis led the research and co-led the campaign to ease the registration process for overseas nurses working as unregistered practitioners in the UK. The campaign led to a major change in the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s registration policy. The work was awarded Workforce Initiative of the Year and highly commended in the NHS Race Equality category of the HSJ awards in 2023. She joined the faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative care at Kings college London where she is the program lead for BSc Nursing studies - a partnership program with Ngee Ann Academy, Singapore.
She is also deputy lead for Clinical research in Diabetes and undertakes PhD supervisions.
She has appeared at several national and international conferences (RCN Research, British Sociological Association) and her articles are published in Nursing standard, Nurse Researcher, Journal of Nursing Management and Journal of Clinical Nursing.
Awards include the Research Impact Award 2023, nominated for King’s Engaged Researcher Network Award 2024, Postgraduate Researcher Award 2018,
