Dr Christina Saville is a Lecturer in Healthcare Management and Leadership within the Health Workforce and Systems theme in Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. She has been researching nurse staffing since 2017 using quantitative methods such as multi-level regression and simulation modelling. This work has been funded predominantly by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Christina’s background is in Operational Research, the branch of Mathematics that uses advanced quantitative techniques to help make better decisions. Recent research includes development of a professional judgement framework to guide establishment reviews (endorsed by NQB), evaluation of the Safer Nursing Care Tool and estimating cost-effectiveness of eliminating understaffing by nursing staff.
