In January 2022 I became the lead of one of the key priorities of SBUHB – Suicide Prevention and work within the quality & safety team in corporate nursing. My role is underpinned by the talk to me 2, Welsh government strategy and supported by using quality improvement methodologies. This work includes suicide awareness training, staff wellbeing, de-stigmatising mental health, arts in health and working towards normalising conversations about our mental health as NHS workers. Kindness, compassion and humanistic values are key to encouraging compassionate cultures towards each other and the population we serve.
